Ghaziabad’s Upcoming Mega Projects

The Uttar Pradesh government will develop a new greenfield township in Ghaziabad, almost matching the size of Indirapuram. To be developed by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), the new township, ‘Harnandipuram’ will come up over 1300 acres and will be developed as part of the ‘Naya Ghaziabad plan under ‘The CM Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme’.

GDA had earlier developed mega townships of Vaundhra over 1289.2 hectares, Madhuban Bapudham over 1200 hectares, Vaishali over 229.76 hectares and Kaushambi over 98.8 hectares. Indirapuram developed across 1289 acres, has reached its saturation point and an extended township over 3 lakh sqm needs to come up.

As per the planning, the new township Harnandipuramwill be flanked by Pipeline Road to the north, Northern Peripheral Road to the east and Morti to the south and the Hindon River to the West. For building this township- Harnandipuram, GDA will be undertaking a land acquisition process in villages including Nagla Feraozepur, Mohanpur, Morta, Bhowpur, Atour, Champat Nagar, Shamsher, Bhenda Khurd, Mathurapur and Shahpur Morta. The land acquisition process will cost Rs 5000 crore and it will be shared between the Uttar Pradesh government and GDA.

The new township will get the advantage of the connectivity boost which Ghaziabad already enjoys through the Delhi-Ghaziabad -Meerut highway. The upcoming Rapid Rail Transport System (RRTS) will further provide a connectivity advantage to Harnandipuram.
