Festive season, considered to be the auspicious time, sees the country’s nouveau riche including Bollywood stars going in for uber luxury home buying. This year too, Bollywood stars have made most of the festive season with high end home purchases.
The home buying spree started a couple of months before the onset of the festive season. Actor Ranveer Singh bought a sea-facing ultra-luxury quadruplex apartment spread across 16 to 19 floors in tony Bandstand locality for a whopping Rs 119 crore. This ultra luxury property over 11200 sq ft close to Shahrukh Khan’s Mannat bungalow, with a 1300 sq ft exclusive terrace , presents a panoramic view of Arabian sea. Another Bollywood star Raj Kumar Rao bought a triplex apartment in posh Juhu Area. Owned by actor Janhvi Kapoor, this luxury apartment spread over 3400 sq ft was sold for Rs 44 crore.
It was actor Anoushka Sharma, wife of iconic Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli who kickstarted the festive home buying this year. She acquired a plush farmhouse in Alibaug on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Spread across 8 acres, the farmhouse was reportedly bought for Rs 19 crore.
Bollywood’s iconic star, Madhuri Dixit lighted up the festive season by purchasing a luxe sea-view apartment in Mumbai’s upscale Worli locality. This high end apartment in Indiabulls Blue project on Dr E Moses Road was bought by Madhuri Dixit for Rs 48 crore. Bollywood film producer Renu chopra, daughter-in-law of late director-producer, B R Chopra, hit the headlines with the most expensive home transaction at Rs 1.51 lakh per sq ft. She bought a fancy 11th floor apartment in a 20-storey Supreme Artveda tower in Bandra West for Rs 48 crore.
The popular actor Ayushmaan Khurrana bought two apartments in Lokhandwala complex in Andheri suburb of Mumbai.
