Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has given an infra push to land pooling areas in the capital by allowing discoms to provide new electricity connections.
Earlier in June 2023, a decision was taken wherein no new power connections were to be allowed within the development areas of 105 urbanised villages in the land pooling areas. Under the new policy, the land pooling areas which will get power infra upgrade , include the urbanised villages and colonies under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) . For a long time, residents of these areas under land pooling were devoid of electricity connections.
DDA’s policy decision will benefit colonies regularised by MCD prior to the issuance notification of land pooling regulations 2018, land allotments to landless under land pooling area, industries/godowns located in non-conforming industrial area notified in 2021 Delhi Master Plan and government land in JJ colonies where DDA has allotted the land rights among others.
