Greater Noida which has emerged as a star real estate destination in the NCR with several mega real estate projects and an international airport , will have another feather in its cap with an upcoming semiconductor park
To be developed by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the semicon park will come up near the upcoming Jewar International Airport whose first phase is expected to be operational by the end of the year. Being the first semiconductor park of Uttar Pradesh, it is aimed at attracting major chip manufacturing companies to set up their operations in the state.
The park which has designated land for two semiconductor clusters, will be developed across sectors 10 and 28. The sector 10 cluster will have an area of 200 acres while the cluster in Sector 28, will be spread over 125 acres. These clusters will enjoy the unique locational advantage because of their close proximity to Jewar Airport. The upcoming Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) and the proposed high speed rail line between Delhi and Varanasi, with a station at Jewar Airport, will further enhance the connectivity of the Semiconductor Park.
The upcoming semicon park which will have a dedicated water treatment plant and power substations, will enjoy incentives under Semiconductor Policy of the Uttar Pradesh government. These include 50 percent special subsidy over and above the subsidy offered by the central government, 100 percent electricity duty exemption for 10 years, besides rebate in land price.
It may be mentioned that the Uttar Pradesh government has allotted 30 acres land to HCL-Foxconn joint venture near the Jewar Airport.
