Fast Tracking of Japanese Industrial Township & Singapore City
The operationalisation of Jewar International Airport in Greater Noida is proving to be a catalyst for providing impetus to further development in the rapidly developing Yamuna City region. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has initiated plans to develop 10 new sectors for developing affordable housing and industrial projects, besides strengthening infrastructure.
The proposed new sectors will support airport side development by accommodating key global projects including the upcoming Japanese Industrial Township and Singapore City. The Uttar Pradesh government has reportedly approved INR 2800 crore for land acquisition and the YEIDA authorities have already started the process of identifying land, especially with focus on first developing areas around the airport. Land measuring 18000 sq metres has been identified for the construction of highrise affordable housing for EWS families and industrial workers, complete with a facility housing daily use retail shops. On the similar lines Greater Noida Development Authority will also be developing affordable housing for which land has been identified in Greater Noida West.
It may be mentioned that under the 2041 Master Plan of YEIDA, 75k hectares of land spread across Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts is being developed in phases. Yamuna City which presently has 52 sectors, is already witnessing significant development over more than 35k hectares.
