Aspect Realty has successfully completed the long-delayed Shivam housing project in Worli under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), marking a major milestone in Mumbai’s urban redevelopment efforts. The project, which had been stalled for 17 years, will now hand over fully furnished homes to more than 600 beneficiary families — a first for SRA developments in the city.
The company cleared pending dues of the previous builder and provided outstanding rental payments to displaced residents in a single payout.
Each 300-square-foot flat is equipped with furniture, including a sofa, bed, and wardrobe, as well as essential appliances like a refrigerator, smart TV, water purifier, and gas stove. This is the first time SRA flats in Mumbai are being delivered with a full complement of furniture and white goods.
The project had been mired in delays for nearly two decades, leaving residents in inadequate housing, with some original beneficiaries passing away before seeing any progress.
Kedar Chapekar, CEO – Aspect Realty, said, “Taking over a 17-year-old stalled project presented enormous challenges, but our team’s dedication allowed us to fast-track construction without compromising on quality. We are immensely proud to be near completion of over 600 SRA flats, providing the next generation of these families with ownership and security. This project is a clear demonstration that ethical real estate development and impactful social rehabilitation can and must go hand-in-hand.”
With the completion of the Shivam project, Aspect Realty has now rehabilitated over 2,500 families across various SRA projects in Mumbai.
Aspect Realty is a part of Aspect Global Ventures, a global conglomerate with a presence in the USA, UK, Singapore, Japan, Australia and Dubai.
