Uttar Pradesh is aiming to emerge as India’s next major Global Capability Centre (GCC) hub by attracting nearly 10 per cent of all new GCCs established in the country, a senior state government official said on Monday.

Addressing the GCC Summit 2026 in Noida, Principal Secretary (IT and Electronics) Alok Kumar said the state was creating an enabling ecosystem through progressive policies, skilled talent, world-class infrastructure and responsive governance to attract global technology investments, PTI reported.

He said the government plans to develop not only Noida and Greater Noida but also Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Prayagraj and Bundelkhand as future GCC destinations.

“India is witnessing rapid growth in Global Capability Centres, and Uttar Pradesh is determined to attract nearly 10 per cent of all new GCCs established in the country.

By combining progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, industry-ready talent and a collaborative innovation ecosystem, we are creating an environment where global enterprises can scale with confidence while generating high-quality employment across the state,” Kumar said.

He said GCCs had evolved from traditional back-office operations into global hubs for artificial intelligence, engineering, research and development, product innovation and enterprise decision-making.

Kumar said the state was strengthening its policy framework, digital infrastructure and talent ecosystem to support its vision of becoming a USD 1 trillion economy.

He also announced that the government would set up a high-level GCC Advisory Board comprising representatives from the government, industry, academia, Invest UP and development authorities to facilitate policy reforms, improve inter-departmental coordination and accelerate investment decisions.

The official said the government was also refining its IT and ITeS Policy, expanding data centre infrastructure, developing Deep Tech Hubs and U-Hubs, and promoting industry-aligned skill development to boost the state’s GCC ecosystem.
