The Noida Authority will begin the land acquisition process for the ambitious New Noida project, officially known as the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR), within the next seven to 10 days, officials said on Thursday. The acquisition will be carried out through mutual consent with farmers.

Four lekhpals (revenue officials) have been deployed for fieldwork, while another is expected to join shortly. They will verify khasra numbers, ownership and co-ownership records, and inheritance claims before the acquisition begins.

A physical survey will also assess land boundaries, existing land use, crops, structures, roads and other assets. Officials will hold meetings with farmers and landowners to explain the project, compensation policy and acquisition process before securing the land.

“The land acquisition process will start in seven to 10 days as the state government has deployed four revenue officers and one more will join soon. We are fully prepared to procure land for the development of this region,” said Kranti Shekhar, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Noida Authority.

The Uttar Pradesh government notified 209.11 sq km across 84 villages for the project in October 2024, with 63 villages in Bulandshahr and 21 in Gautam Buddh Nagar. In the first phase, land from 37 villages—24 in Bulandshahr and 13 in Gautam Buddh Nagar—will be acquired. The acquisition rate has been fixed at Rs 74,300 per square metre, matching revised rates for the Noida International Airport project. DNGIR, a proposed investment region under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, will be developed in four phases up to 2041.
