RMZ has awarded Tata Projects a contract worth around Rs 670 crore for the main civil works of its upcoming commercial development, RMZ Infinity, in Chennai. The project is located at Porur on Mount Poonamallee Road and is expected to add to the city’s Grade A office space as demand from global capability centres (GCCs) continues to grow.

The contract covers the execution of core and shell works, including civil, structural and architectural construction, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, basement flooring, fire-rated doors, external finishes and painting works. The development marks another addition to RMZ’s commercial real estate portfolio in Chennai.

Spread across 16.4 acres, RMZ Infinity will comprise four office towers with a total leasable area of around 2.94 million square feet. The office campus has been designed primarily for global capability centres, with floor plates ranging from 22,000 square feet to 1.32 lakh square feet. The project has been planned with sustainability features, including USGBC LEED Gold pre-certification, while it is also targeting WELL Gold certification. The campus will include retail outlets, food and beverage spaces, a social plaza and other employee-focused amenities.

Thirumal Govindraj, CEO, RMZ Office and RMZ NXT, said the partnership with Tata Projects is expected to support the delivery of a large commercial office project that meets the changing requirements of global occupiers. He added that RMZ Infinity is expected to strengthen Chennai’s position as a preferred destination for international businesses.

Barun Pal Chowdhury, Executive Vice President and SBG Head – Urban Spaces at Tata Projects, said the company will focus on delivering the project with an emphasis on quality, sustainability and execution standards. He added that large commercial developments play an important role in supporting the competitiveness of India’s growing business centres. RMZ said the project is expected to benefit from improved connectivity through the upcoming Chennai Metro and will further strengthen the city’s stock of modern office spaces designed for global enterprises.
