Real estate developer Anant Raj Ltd is betting big on India’s booming data centre market, with plans to scale up revenue from its data centre and cloud services arm, Anant Raj Cloud, to about ₹1,200 crore by FY27 and nearly $1 billion (₹8,870 crore) by FY32.
Backed by a $2.1 billion capex plan and progressive policy support, the company aims to build one of the country’s largest data centre portfolios, operationalising 307 MW of IT load across Haryana in the next seven years.
Its managing director Amit Sarin said through its subsidiary, Anant Raj Cloud, the company has built scalable campuses at Manesar and Panchkula, currently operationalising 28 MW of IT load.
In June 2024, it partnered with Orange Business, a French IT and telecom services provider, to deliver managed cloud services.
“We are building one of the largest data centre portfolios in the country. With new capacity at Panchkula and expansion at Manesar, we are on track to scale to 307 MW by FY32, supported by sizeable cloud capacity,” Sarin said. “This growth, aligned with progressive policies like tax exemptions, will enable us to play a leading role in supporting India’s digital economy while creating long-term value for all stakeholders.”
The draft National Data Centre Policy 2025, proposed by the electronics and information technology ministry, is expected to give a significant boost to India’s data centre ecosystem. By offering tax exemptions for up to 20 years to developers that meet targets on capacity expansion, energy efficiency and job creation, the policy is designed to attract large-scale investments and ease capital requirements.
Industry experts believe this move will help accelerate infrastructure growth, reduce operating costs and help position India as a competitive global hub for cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI) modelling and digital storage at a time when demand is increasing rapidly.
According to Sarin, such long-term incentives will ease capital requirements, improve project economics and accelerate the creation of critical digital infrastructure.
